Home Page

I thought for years that you had to have the expensive Az/El rotors, big antennas and lots of power to work the various Amateur Radio Satellites.  What you will see on this web site will prove idea wrong.  On this web site, you will see the different ways that I have used to work the different satellites.  I will show how to use commercially available items as well as those you can make yourself.

I am building this web site as my contribution to help others get as much enjoyment out of it as I am without having to do as much experimentation or trial by error as I have had to do to get here.  I will be adding more here as I learn more about working the satellites.  Check back from time to time for changes to even some of the "established" pages as I put up additional information.  When I find a good piece of information about the satellites from someone, you will see it here with an indication of who I heard it from.  We all get more enjoyment from working the birds when we help each other.

If you are new to satellites,  You might want to start out with the Sat Gear button and see what kinds of radios and antennas I am using to talk to the birds.  Once you have a feel for what equipment you need or already have, you can go to the Satellites button to see what birds you would like to try working first.  For those interested in operating satellites when mobile, check out this page.

Looking forward to seeing you on the birds !

Please bear with me as I recreate this site on a new server
